Step 1

Organize your pages

Click on the name of your site in the administration bar and go to the Pages menu to organize the tree structure of the site pages.

From here you can create, modify or delete the pages of your site.

The colored dots indicate the state of the page. Blue when changes are in progress and green when the page is published. You can click on the dots to display contextual options.

If you do not want a page to appear in the navigation menu (the home page for example), you can uncheck the Menu box of the page concerned.

You can rearrange the order of pages in the menu by dragging them to the desired location.

By nesting one page under another you create a dropdown menu.

Step 2

Create a page

To create a page, you have several options.

Administration menu

In the page tree administration page, click the  New page button.

Administration bar

In the Page menu of the administration bar, click on Create page and then on New page.

Creation Wizard

Open the creation wizard by clicking on the Create button in the administration bar and select New page.

Choose a title for your page and click Create.

Step 3

Add content

To add content to your page, first make sure you are in edit mode. To do this, check that the  View published option is displayed in the administration bar. If not click on  Edit .

Once in edit mode, click on the components icon  on the right of the  View published  or press the space key.

Here is the page Content area. Add your components to it by clicking on the plus  icon.

You can choose from a wide range of components. Here are the most important ones.

Text zone

As the name suggests, this component allows you to add a text box to your page. Like a classic word processor, you can change the style of the text, its color, alignment, create lists, add links and much more. There's even a built-in spell checker.

Form

This component allows you to create a form to fill out on the page. You can choose the fields, choose to receive an email when a user has filled out the form and even redirect it to another page if you wish.

Image

The essential component to give life to your page. This allows you to choose an image, change its size, its appearance and assign it a link.

Grid system

It can be very useful to be able to create several columns to arrange your content. There are several components for this.

The Row component allows you to create a row so that all the components it contains are arranged on the same row. In a row, you can add as many columns as you want. Give them the width you want thanks to a duodecimal grid system that adapts to all devices.

And much more

Obviously you have many other components for your pages. Such as maps, a newsletter and many others.

You also have access to most Bootstrap 4 components.

Step 4

Change the template

A blank page is good, but sometimes it's not enough. For this there are the page templates.

In the Page option of the administration bar, under Templates, you will find all kinds of templates for your pages. It will mainly depend on the theme you have chosen but here are the most common ones.

Blank page

Default template, it is a basic page.

Footer

This template based on a blank page also contains a footer.

You can edit the footer like any page content using the Footer component space. Note that the footer is identical on all pages that have one.

Feature

It is sometimes desirable to highlight some of the content. For the home page for example.

With this template, you have access to a new component space to add the content to be highlighted. You can usually add a Background Image component to it to enhance your content.

Sidebar

Sometimes it can be useful to display contextual content alongside the main content of the page. In a blog for example, to display the categories or articles highlighted.

This template gives you access to a new Sidebar space to add contextual content.

Step 5

Publish the page

Once you are satisfied with the rendering of your page, you can publish it by clicking on the  publier la page maintenant button in the administration bar.

You can also set a later date for the page to be published in the page settings.

Conclusion

It is very easy to create and manage pages with Web.mvc, add content to it, format it and make it accessible to everyone in a few minutes.
